Spotlight on my Favourite TV Show REIGN

Hey!

So I have talked about a author a Book series a movie and now I want to talk about a TV SHOW!

Mary, Francis and Bash! Hot Stuff!
I watch a lot of TV so obviously I have a lot of favorites and even a lot of guilty pleasure shows but One of my most favorites at the moment would have to be REIGN!

This is a sort of retailing and isn't always historically correct of Mary Queen of Scots time in France. She was the only child born oft he King of Scotland and they made a deal with France to marry the prince and sent her off, in the show she is also accompanied by her ladies in waiting which is one oft he reasons why I like the show plus the fact that you have cute princes and nobleman! It was created by STephanie SenGupta and Laurie McCarthy and airs on the CW, it started in 2013 and is on its second season now

A official sort of synopsis

“ The highly fictionalized series follows the early exploits of Mary, Queen of Scots during her years living in France. The first season opens in 1557, with Mary living in French court and awaiting her marriage to Prince Francis, to whom she has been engaged since they were six. Mary has to contend with changing politics and power plays, as well as her burgeoning feelings for Francis and the romantic attentions from Francis' bastard half-brother, Bash. Francis' mother, Catherine de' Medici, secretly tries to prevent the marriage following Nostradamus's confidential prediction that the marriage will lead to Francis' death. The series also follows the affairs of Mary's Scottish handmaidens Kenna, Aylee, Lola and Greer, who are searching for husbands of their own at court.“

The characters are great the actress that plays Mary (Adelaide Kane) is both sensitive but can be a great leader and Queen plus make the hard desicions for her country but follows her heart. The main interests in the first season is Francis the second of france (Toby Regbo) and his bastatd brother Sebastian (Torrance Coombs). It follows these three as they deal with the choices that are left fort hem PLUS they have to deal with Francis’s mother Catherine de’Medici (Megan Follows) and the King Henry the second (Alan van Sprang).
Mary and her ladies (Greer, Lola, Mary, Kenna, Aylee)
I love the way these characters interact and how there story lines are both independent but also mix and interwine to create some serious drama! AND there is even more drama when you add Mary’s ladies in waiting Kenna (Caitlin Stasey), Lola (Anna Popplewell), Greer (Celina Sinden) and Aylee (Jenessa Grant). The show also follows there lives with Mary in France havbing come over from Scotland, but ist great to see they all look after each other and ist great seeing them be friends with Mary but also help her in serious times as well.
King Henry and Queen Catherine! Badasses

I love too how they have so many different actors and actresses from all over the world, English, Canadian, Australian and even from my homeland New Zealand! Plus where they film is so beautiful I love it and makes me want to go there!

You guys should check this out, it is more of a older age show but if anyone has any other favourite shows let me know so I can check them out!

I hope your doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

Jumbled Fangirling about Oceans Movies

Hey!

So today I am continuing my spotlight type for this month with a movie well a series that I love so very much!

So Good!
This isn't a new movie series but its so good that I can’t not talk about it!

Oceans Series! Directed by Steven Soderbergh

It has to  be said that yes this is a remake of a movie made in 1960 version using the same name which is also supposed to be a really good movie I like the remake from 2001!
This movie series is just so good guys! It follows Danny Ocean as he enlists the help of his mate Rusty to find a kick ass team of crocks to rob 3 Las Vegas casinos all at the same time!
It has an amazing cast like its sticking all these awesome actors together and in this case it really does work, one oft he reasons I like this series its he interactions between the characters in the movie its so easy and doesn't look forced at all its like they naturally get together and rob a casino every week!

The offical synopsis from IMDB is

“ Danny Ocean wants to score the biggest heist in history. He combines an eleven member team, including Frank Catton, Rusty Ryan and Linus Caldwell. Their target? The Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand. All casinos owned by Terry Benedict. It's not going to be easy, as they plan to get in secretly and out with $150 million“

The cast is George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Scott Caan, Casey Affleck, Carl Reiner, Elliott Gould, Eddie Jemison, Shaobo Qin BUT it also has Julia Roberts and Andy Garcia who do remain throughout the series in each movie popping up
That line up is awesome people and it makes the movie so much more enjoyable as you can imagine they bounce off each other and create a funny dynamic as there characters each have such funny mannerisms.

With most movies like this you would think that it would be more of a action movie, and it does have some action but its definitely a comedy heist movie but isn't cheesy as some other adaptions of this genre are and it isn't cheesy due tot he large number of stars either I mean if the first one hadn't been as successful then the others would have been worse! I do like the first and second more than the third but I think that's just me.
Look at that cast!

This is as I have said a series and Eleven is followed by Oceans Twelve and Oceans Thirteen (Very original I know) the additions to twelve is most notably Catherine Zeta-Jones and Eddie Izzard (who does appear in the next one as well). And for Thirteen Al Pacino… Maybe its because he was in it that made it a bit eh for me but its still funny and a laugh.
Old school movies but still good!

I also really like the setting of the movies obviously Las Vegas is a great setting with all the massive buildings but maybe the reason I like the second one so much is because it is set in Europe. The music too is really good and adds to the light side of some of the scenes but also gives some suspense and action, I must say Steven Soderbergh knows how to make a movie!

Fangirling over!

I love the story of this series and the plots even the twists which when I first watched them I was like Oh you guys!

I will try post again really soon since this is short

I hope you are doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

(All pictures from IMDB and info too)

ARC REVIEW COMING SOON!

Hey!

So a week ago or so I wrote a blog about a author I really liked Claudia Gray as her new book was just being released! She also was giving out ARC's (Advance Reader Copies) and so having just started a blog I thought that it would be cool to ask for a copy and so I did...

AND today I got the package, it was quite unexpected as I hadn't heard a definite reply but gosh I was so excited!

I got Sorceress the 3rd and final book in the Spellcaster series

I love her writing style and the stories that she makes up so I am super excited to say once I have read my ARC I will be doing a full review of the series coming up in the next few weeks, I will be trying to make it as spoiler free review but I will say before if there is. And whats even cooler was that the copy was even signed by her! Not only is it my first ARC but my first SIGNED book I feel very grateful and the covers are really pretty. I just hope I can help spread the word about this author. SHe has a number of great books and I think she is definitely worth checking out!

I feel really thankful to be given the chance to do a review so I'm really excited and plus I love the books this author writes and can't wait to find out what happens in the end!

Peachville High Demons By Sarra Cannon!

Hey!

So I have decided to try do a sort of spotlight thing as I have already talked about a author that I like so now I want to talk about more THINGS such as have a  blog for a game I like, a movie, TV show and book! I think its a good idea it gets me to have more blogs and it lets me talk about some of the things I love in life!

So I want to talk about a series I have gotten into is called the Peachville High Demons Series by self published author Sarra Cannon.

This is the first of her series that I have read and I really enjoyed this series!. Its about Harper Madison who has something about herself that she just can’t work out which means she moves from Foster house to foster house until she comes tot he peaceful looking town of Peachville where her last chance is Shadowford House. There its he classic cliche that everyone wants to be a part of and secrets revolve around them and a murder happens which Harper is somehow being dragged in… DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN!

Official Synopsis From Goodreads

“Harper Madison isn't like other girls. She has extraordinary powers, but her inability to control them has gotten her kicked from so many foster homes she's lost count. Shadowford Home is her last chance, and she hopes Peachville High will be the fresh start she needs. But when evidence ties her to the gruesome murder of a Demons cheerleader, Harper discovers this small town has a big secret"

There are 6 main books in the series BEAUTIFUL DEMONS, INNER DEMONS, BITTER DEMONS, SHADOW DEMONS, RIVAL DEMONS and DEMONS FOREVER. There are also 2 stories from the character of Jackson as well, I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil anyone for this awesome series!

This series is great and even though the books are really small it does pack a lot into the story especially with the characters there is a lot of development especially with the main character of Harper throughout the whole series. There are also lovely boys such as Jackson he is really a cool character and I like the dynamic between him and the main character of Harper. There are some bitchy kind of characters too as with any high school setting but I like it. The school hast he normal cliches of any high school cheerleaders and jocks but it highlights some oft he more different  groups and Harper fits into none oft he groups she is so different and has her own individuality that I find refreshing, she can wear girly colours but match it with black, these things make it so easy to relate to her as a character.

I don’t want to give too much away in terms oft he plot or the major characters at play throughout the books but dayum its good! The villains are sometimes confusing and this book even had me guessing as to what was going on hell I still don’t know whats going on and I’m almost done with the series! It has some great systems and world building that I like, the small details is something I really react to in a book.

I do want to just take a sec and say how awesome it is that this author is self published and amazing I would definitely check out her page if you are into writing and want some tips HERE
There is also a I guess a companion series that is set in the same world but different characters called SACRIFICE ME series and I can’t wait to get into that, this world is great and I really enjoy Sarra Cannon’s writing style that I will definitely be picking more of her books up.

I love Harper and Jackson and the whole gang in this series and would definitely recommend it!, I will say without giving too much away but it is magical and I guess supernatural so if you are into those kind of of things than this might be a series for you. The books are really quick reads and for me they were great to get me out of my reading slump

I hope your doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

Some Animated Movies and Anime shows I like : ) I need to watch more!!!

Hey!

So I love movies and have talked about them already a lot on my Blog but one thing I love is animated movies! I know a lot of the animated movies that come out are for children but that's what I think makes them so much better, I'm now at the age where I have to kinda be seen as an adult and yet this is still one of my favourite genres!

I grew up watching a lot of these movies especially Disney movies Hercules, Alice and wonderland, Disney princesses, 101 Dalmatians lady and the tramp, and so much more I probably have watched a good chunk of them now. Yet I'm not embarrassed there are so many good movies that are directed at children and that are animated I mean to be honest so many of them have heaps of adult themes and jokes!  mean watching Toy Story as an adult is actually really funny because of the way it is displayed.
LET IT GO!

SO GOOD!
I know that a lot of people aren't a fan of the Disney princesses for example and I did watch most of them when I was a kid but I've always loved the stories especially Brave and Frozen. I think that yes the ideas aren't always the best but its still good to have young girls look up and want to be better than these princesses that have that damsel in distress ideas, I mean I wasn't a girly girl growing up but I still thought they were cool and I don't think believing in true love is a bad thing and to believe in the magic of something. I do have a large imagination because of animated films and books from my childhood and that's something I treasure to this day, it makes me Me and also give me something to talk about here on my Blog!
Good Cast too
There are some great lessons in animated movies and I think that's why they use that method for children I mean there are heaps of fight against evil but also find yourself and be happy with you. I think even as adults we can still learn so much plus we need a bit of happiness with all the sadness in the world!

I must say though one of my favourite animated movies is Over The Hedge that movie is awesome and I love it so much plus classics like 101 Dalmatians even watch that a couple months ago so good, I guess I'm just a believer and want to see the best in the world. Also I probs just don't want to feel like I'm getting too old!

Card Captor Sukura!
Mew Mew!
And I grew up watching a lot of animated TV shows too like the obvious Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z but also a little anime such as Sailor Moon and Card Captors which were both super awesome. I have always wanted to watch more anime as I have gotten older which is one of the reasons why I love animated movies so much because there is so much to watch and they have so many different genres I've always liked Spirited Away and obviously the Pokemon movies I mean those first two were really good you know the one with Mew and Mew two (When I went to the movie I even got a free card!).
Sailor Moon LOL

If anyone has any other anime that are good totally hit me up on twitter I need to watch more series and more movies!
I do tend to watch the girly anime I know its bad but I also love Tokyo Mew Mew even as a kid I did watch some of the more unique shows like full anime which does get a little ruined when its subbed into English. Some of the content even gets deleted or changed I know that specifically from Card Captors. Some of my kiddie day shows were Digimon (I know...), Beyblades was a big one so was Yu Gi Oh, i went through that whole phase of the cards and toys... But it was great its fun to have these phases with your friends growing up where you watch but also play these shows you watch.
Guilty pleasure also was the show Zoids that was epic!
Who wouldn't want one of these!
This Is my Childhood!

These Animated movies and Anime are great the stories are great the characters are great its just a awesome thing and I'm happy to have this come through again into my "Adult" life! I even have finally joined the Frozen fan base as I finally watched it and loved it! I have the let it go fever just a couple years late...

I might try to write a book about comics soon too,

I hope your doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

New Book I need! Sorceress by Claudia Gray!

Hey!

So today I want to talk about one of my favourite authors.... Claudia Gray!

One of the first series I read that got me into paranormal was her Evernight series.

This series follows a girl Bianca who moves a it her teacher parents to Evernight Academy! A place for vampires and humans to coexist.  It has a Gothic feel where everyone seems just too perfect until she meets the mysterious Lucas a human boy!
But there is some epic secrets which could change everything! Dun dun duuuuuuuuun
It's a 4 book series, Evernight, Stargazer, Hourglass and Afterlife and I really liked them all! It's got some great twists to it which I wasn't expecting but there is also a sort of companion novel about one of the main characters too which was awesome seeing a character that you fall in love with have there own book so you get there story Balthazar. If you want more info about the Evernight series you can find it HERE on Claudia Gray's website or HERE on Goodreads

BUT

She has a lot more series then that, the Firebird series which has the most beautiful covers and is about time travel (I have talked about this series in another blog showing the covers so you may want to check that out!) and the Spellcaster series!

This series is about witches and follows Nadia as her family move to a new town and feels the crazy magic that is there. She befriends Mateo who is shadowed in gossip as his family is said to be a little bit loopy claiming to see the future!
But they must work together to break the curse on his family and also deal with other crazy stuff going on!
This is the official synopsis for the first book in the series Spellcaster, this is followed by Steadfast and the new and final book Sorceress! Plus a novella set well before the first novel called The First Midnight Spell.

"When Nadia’s family moves to Captive’s Sound, she instantly realizes there’s more to it than meets the eye. Descended from witches, Nadia senses a dark and powerful magic at work in her new town. Mateo has lived in Captive’s Sound his entire life, trying to dodge the local legend that his family is cursed - and that curse will cause him to believe he’s seeing the future … until it drives him mad. When the strange dreams Mateo has been having of rescuing a beautiful girl—Nadia—from a car accident come true, he knows he’s doomed.

Despite the forces pulling them apart, Nadia and Mateo must work together to break the chains of his family’s terrible curse, and to prevent a disaster that threatens the lives of everyone around them. Shimmering with magic and mystery"

Book 1 (Love that cover)
Book 2 (Love the colours!)
Novella (I love stars!)

I love the villain in this first novel they makes me so angry yet they is so intriguing and you want to know more (which helps cause there is the Novella) and they were very unexpected at the beginning!, I'm trying not to spoil sorry Ahh its so hard when you just want to talk about it. Nadia is a lovable character and the fact that she doesn't have her mother there to teacher all she needs to know makes Nadia more believable because you can feel with her as she struggles through life at times.

This is the series I want to talk about as the new and final book in the series has just been released it is called Sorceress! It was just released yesterday (March 3rd) and I'm super excited to get my hands on this baby! I don't want to say too much about it because its the last in a series but its a witchy battle type of series where lines will be drawn in the sand and we got to find out whose on which side!

Book 3, Love this cover it actually looks magical!

I love her writing and I love the stories that Claudia Gray puts together, there is always something different about them the immediately draws me in and she has become a bit of an auto buy author for me. Plus I'm not normally a fan of people on covers but I find these 3 covers in this series as awesome and super pretty!

It's been long awaited to see what happens to Nadia Mateo and there friends so get among it people and get this book or look into the series!. It has a great new magical system not like many I have read before and was one of the first witch books I ever read! Which made me love the genre, it shows a great powerful woman but the main character of Nadia is so easy to relate to for me and I connected easily to her and this awesome story! And this is what I find with most of Claudia Gray's characters as I could connect with Bianca as well!

Still wish I could be a witch would be great fun
If you like Claudia Gray's other books or like witch series and a cool new world I would definitely recommend picking this series up!

I hope your doing well and have a great day
Peace : )
