THE GREAT HUNT

Hey!

So we finally got the cover of Wendy Higgins new book THE GREAT HUNT and I really like its sort of whimsical and it brings up a lot of questions as to what the story is really about. I love how authors get really excited about there books and reading Wendy's thoughts of what it is about makes me excited too

The official synopsis:

"Kill the beast. Win the girl.

A strange beast stirs fear in the kingdom of Lochlanach, terrorizing towns with its brutality and hunger. In an act of desperation, a proclamation is sent to all of Eurona—kill the creature and win the ultimate prize: the daughter of King Lochson’s hand in marriage.

Princess Aerity understands her duty to the kingdom though it pains her to imagine marrying a stranger. It would be foolish to set her sights on any particular man in the great hunt, but when a brooding local hunter, Paxton Seabolt, catches her attention, there’s no denying the unspoken lure between them…or his mysterious resentment.

Paxton is not keen on marriage. Nor does he care much for spoiled royals and their arcane laws. He’s determined to keep his focus on the task at hand—ridding the kingdom of the beast and protecting his family—yet Princess Aerity continues to challenge his notions with her unpredictability and charm. But as past secrets collide with present desires, dire choices threaten everything Paxton holds dear.

Inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ tale, “The Singing Bone,” New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins delivers a dark fantasy filled with rugged hunters, romantic tension, outlawed magic, and a princess willing to risk all to save her people."

The story is told in 3rd person from a number of different characters point of views, I do like these kinds of stories but sometimes they can go a little cray cray so I'm hoping this will so it right and I have all the faith! Love this authors writing, the sweet triology which I read this year has become one of my favourites its just so cute!

Here is the cover guys!

Also do check out her other series The Sweet Trilogy as the new book well a companion novel of all the original trilogy told from Kaidan's point of view and oh boy I sigh for Kai! It comes out in like 72 days!

Hope you guys are doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

Degrassi will always live on!

Hey!

One of my favourite shows is finishing Degrassi: The Next Generation, I was so sad to see this show ending! This show could go on for like ever, so I was super excited to find out later that it had been picked up by Netflix to create Degrassi: Next Class! I was worried that I won't see what would happen to Maya, Zig and all that crazy lot that weren't graduating but I really do hope that they bring in some of the older cast at time I mean Spinner is still sometimes popping up even now when he graduated ages ago and even got married!.

So I want to list 5 of my all time favourite characters from Degrassi: The Next Generation... And these are in no particular order and there are so many more I like but I think 5 is a good start so I'm not blogging forever!

NUMBER 5 is Maya Matlin played by Olivia Scriven

She is a more new character and will be continuing on in the new degrassi, one of the things I have liked about her is how much she has to go through in Degrassi. She has some really hard hitting story lines and it has been really cool to watch her grow from a very naive girl to someone to knows her self better and she had to go through those times to become a stronger person. I will admit at times she does get a little annoying but overall I really do like her as a character and can't wait to see her story continue. I'm still a huge fan of her and Cam just saying oh the feels! But love her with Zig too there friendship is really awesome to watch no matter what they got each others back. I feel like sometimes she is a new Manny, even though you can't beat the original its cool to see a character like that come back.

NUMBER 4 is Clare Edwards and Alli Bhandari played by Aislinn Paul and Melinda Shankar

I know there is both but they go so well together I couldn't  have one without the other! These two have one of the best friendships in the show and I love how different they are but how well they just understand and have each others back. It makes me think of my best friend, and the story lines they go through separately make them such strong characters. Alli coming from a traditional Indian family, and goes through the whole rebellious teen especially with boys! But through all the drama she becomes such a better person, yes she still makes mistakes but she is a smart cookie and can go so far. Clare started off as the classic nerd, she is smart and was shy but she learnt to let go eventually even though she does come off a little stuck up.  She has been through more physically than Alli and its awesome to see her change into a beautiful butterfly, I would say she has made one of the biggest transformations throughout the show. I love her relationship with Eli I ship it completely and I even ship Alli and Dallas, I can't wait to see how these characters stories will end this season

NUMBER 3 is Eli Goldsworthy played by Munro Chambers

He was such a random character and in the beginning I loved him for his emo goth looks and attitude I mean come on he drove a hearse! He has had some story lines which I can relate to and he suffers from bipolar disorder but it makes him who he is and makes his story so much more real. He is now more easy going and calm but definitely not at the start he came in with a bang and I was sad to see him graduate. I LOVE him and Clare together its just so perfect even though they go through so many ups and downs together they always seem to find each other. I'm really excited to see what the final season has for these too but also for Eli where he needs to finally fully grow up and take responsibility for whats going on around him and be who he can really be. He can be so cool an so different and I like the way he is, dark yet has been through a lot to come out the other side okay, I really relate to his struggles and find him one of my favourite characters.

NUMBER 2 is Manny Santos and Emma Nelson played by Cassie Steele and Miriam McDonald

Again 2 but these two just go together so much that I couldn't not have them together in this countdown. One thing I like about these 2 characters is we see them from the start, the very first episode and I love there friendship!. They are so different and change so much throughout the series that I really admire what they have been through and they are really relatable as the story lines that they went through were. Manny has such a strict family and she just wants to be her own person, she is very naive at the beginning but rebels against her family much in the same way Alli did later on in the series. She finds boys and that gets her into a bit of trouble but she learns from these mistakes and becomes a better person especially the challenges. Emma was the classic good girl environmentalist and then this began to change where she learnt more about the world around her which made her have some questionable choices but by the end she seemed to have it together and yo she did get together with another of my favourite characters!. I like that even though these 2 fought a lot and weren't friends all the time finding there own paths they always cam back together.

NUMBER 1 is Gavin 'Spinner' Mason played by Shane Kippel

He was there from the beginning and I loved him from the beginning, he was funny and at times a little stupid but he gave the cast something different! There isn't a character like him, plus he even still appears in the show now even after graduating Degrassi which I love. He has been through a lot of change over the seasons going from having heaps of friends to being an outsider and having to deal with the repercussions of his actions. He also had a hard story line involving cancer which I really liked to see him from a different side. Yet through everything he always has a smile and a funny way of dealing with it. I did love his long term relationship with Jane, but was glad the way that termed out, I started off shipping it but then it just got eh for me. Spinner is a great guy, sure he isn't always the first to realise things but he gets there in the end and has a really good heart. He loves his friends and even through there ups and downs will look out for them like his friendship with Jimmy which I really liked as they were so different but Jimmy was always there for him in the end and it was cool seeing him grow. One of my all time favourites forever!

There are heaps more I could talk about who have had amazing story line that opened my eyes and made it easy to relate to issues going on. I will always love the show no matter how old I get and I hope it can keep going on for a little bit longer with Netflix

I hope you are doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

Some exciting teasers for some exciting books!

Hey!

There are so many amazing books coming out this year, and I am super excited!

One book that has been getting a lot of buzz and it comes out very soon, June 16th is SCORCHED by the always amazing Jennifer L Armentrout. It sounds really good and eye opening, that's one of the reasons I love her writing is because she will go to all those places and make a fascinating but also insightful story. I have read a lot of her more fantasy paranormal books and would love to jump into this series which is contemporary and I believe it is new adult too. The story is so relatable just by reading the synopsis and I think I really can understand some of the themes of this novel. It is the 2nd in a series but its about different main characters, the first in the series being Frigid.

Here is the synopsis of Scorched from Goodreads

"Sometimes life leaves a mark…

Most days, Andrea doesn’t know whether she wants to kiss Tanner or punch him in the gut. He is seriously hot, with legit bedroom eyes and that firefighter body of his, but he’s a major player, and they can’t get along for more than a handful of minutes. Until now.

Tanner knows he and Andrea have had an epic love/hate relationship for as long as he can remember, but he wants more love than hate from her. He wants her. Now. Tomorrow. But the more he gets to know her, the more it becomes obvious that Andrea has a problem. She’s teetering on the edge and every time he tries to catch her, she slips through his fingers.

Andrea’s life is spiraling out of control, and it doesn’t matter that Tanner wants to save her, because when everything falls apart and she’s speeding toward rock bottom, only she can save herself.

Sometimes life makes you work for that happily ever after…"

And here is a awesome teaser image!

This is from Jennifer L Armentrout's Blog

Also another book I'm really excited about is SWEET TEMPTATION by Wendy Higgins, which just released another teaser image as it's only 3 months till release and you better believe I'm excited!

I have posted heaps about this book before, it is a follow on book for her Sweet Evil Triology where the story is a bunch of scenes from the original trilogy but told from the sexy rocker Kaidan's point of view!

So what am I waiting for here is the teaser image done by the lovely artist Jennifer Munswami with J.M. Rising Horse Creations for this graphic.

And if you US people are interested in getting a signed copy and some swag check out Wendy Higgins blog for some details, wish I was in the US

I am excited about so many books this year I just can't wait, what are you guys excited for? I always am looking for new books

Hope you are doing well and have a great day

Ebooks I got for free! Sharing the love, and find out some new titles!

Hey!

I hope you are all doing well, today I want to talk about what books I have been buying lately
I have been good and not got too many but have also been finding free ebooks from Benjaminoftomes, he is a youtuber and he does a segment called free book Friday. The cool thing about it is a lot of the time they are authors that I don't know very well and its great to get to read books you wouldn't normally pick up!

Here are the free books I have found : )

Alone by Robert J. Crane

I got these from Amazon, the first 3 books in the series were free  however now having done a little bit of research I'm not so sure, I have heard that there is so very adult content and is not for younger reader.

Here is the Goodreads Synopsis:
“Sienna Nealon was a 17 year-old girl who had been held prisoner in her own house by her mother for twelve years. Then one day her mother vanished, and Sienna woke up to find two strange men in her home. On the run, unsure of who to turn to and discovering she possesses mysterious powers, Sienna finds herself pursued by a shadowy agency known as the Directorate and hunted by a vicious, bloodthirsty psychopath named Wolfe, each of which is determined to capture her for their own purposes...”

Bound By Prophecy by Melissa Wright

I have read this book now and I did find it rather confusing at times, but the idea of it sounded really cool and I would be willing to continue the series, there is some cool action and interesting powers. The first book was free from Amazon and I think maybe I will get better after the first book

Here is the Goodreads Synopsis:
“Twenty-two-year-old Aern is done watching his brother destroy the only thing that matters. He never wanted to take Morgan’s place among council, never wanted to rule their hidden world. But when the key to the prophecy is found, a young girl named Brianna whom Morgan will destroy, Aern knows he has to take action.

What he really wants, is for things to go back to normal. But now he’s kidnapped a girl, and his brother’s men are after him. His only hope is to join with the Division, but they have plans of their own, and it’s the last thing Aern is willing to do.
Emily just wants her sister back. She doesn't care about the prophecy, or realize what’s at stake. But when she goes after Aern, the truth of the matter uncoils, and Brianna isn't the only one who’s in danger.

Suddenly, they’re at the center of a secret war, and unless they can work together, they’ll both have a sacrifice too big to make.”

Six Moon Summer by S.M. Reine

I haven't read very many werewolf specific books and I saw this for free on Amazon and thought why not! I like werewolves in other paranormal stories so I'm hoping that this will be a place to start.

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“Rylie's been bitten.

She's changing.

And now she has three months to find a cure before becoming a werewolf... forever.

Rylie Gresham hates everything about summer camp: the food, the fresh air, the dumb activities, and the other girls in her cabin. But the worst part is probably being bitten by a werewolf. Being a teenager is hard enough, but now she's craving raw flesh and struggles with uncontrollable anger. If she doesn't figure out a way to stop the transformation, then at the end of summer, her life is worse than over. She'll be a monster.”

Faelorehn by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson

Amazon told me about this books and that's where I got it for on my kindle like all of these other books.  I do love a good fey type book so I am excited a little to see what its all about and give it a go. Sorry to say but not a fan of the cover it could be so much better

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“I never heard him come after me and even as I climbed the slope and stumbled onto our shaded back lawn, I didn’t look back. It was like the day the gnomes chased me all over again, but this time I was not escaping some horrible little creatures, I was fleeing from an incredibly good-looking guy who could very well understand me completely. I was either saving myself from that serial killer I always imagined lived down in the swamp, or I had finally gone over the deep end . . .

Meghan Elam has been strange her entire life: her eyes have this odd habit of changing color and she sees and hears things no one else does. When the visions and voices in her head start to get worse, she is convinced that her parents will want to drag her off to another psychiatrist. That is, until the mysterious Cade MacRoich shows up out of nowhere with an explanation of his own.

Cade brings her news of another realm where goblins and gnomes are the norm, a place where whispering spirits exist in the very earth, and a world where Meghan just might find the answers she has always sought”

The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason

I love a good vampire book and back when I first started reading more YA a lot of that was vampire books, however this seems to be from the hunter side so I think it will be a good change for me to spread my vampire reading wings and see more!

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“Beneath the glitter of dazzling 19th-century London Society lurks a bloodthirsty evil...

In every generation, a Gardella is called to accept the family legacy of hunting vampires, and this time, Victoria Gardella Grantworth is chosen, on the eve of her debut, to carry the stake.”

Redemption by R.K. Ryals

This book seemed kinda different and why I wanted to give it a go, it seems like it might be a Angels and Demons type of book but I will wait and till I read it to really see. I have high hopes for this book and can't wait to read it

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“A fateful car accident, a strange Abbey ruled by an even stranger Abbess, an insane Demon, a world where right and wrong becomes dangerously twisted, and a confident, rebellious teenager . . . .

Dayton Blainey is a foul-mouthed, grief-stricken young woman forced to live with a religiously eccentric aunt who favors her moral older sister. But when Dayton's life becomes intertwined with a dangerous stranger, she suddenly finds herself at the center of a war fought since the beginning of time.

Trapped between what she believes is right, and a forbidden attraction, Dayton must come to terms with betrayal and her surprising lineage to stop a war before it even begins. “

Sacrifice Me: Season 1 by Sarra Cannon

I first found Sarra cannon when I read the Peachville demons series which I also got for free and have talked about a lot in my past blogs. This is a cool world of magic and witchcraft and I'm excited to see a more adult take on the world as the main character is older than in the PHD series.

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“On her twenty-first birthday, Franki Smith receives a dozen black roses and an unsigned invitation to a nightclub. Two handwritten words near the top haunt her. "Little Bird." Her mother's nickname for her.

Only, Franki's mother disappeared without a trace exactly three years ago to the day.

And the nightclub doesn’t seem to exist.

Who sent the dark gift? Franki's need to answer this question leads her to the doorway of a strange and glamorous new world. A world her mother went to great lengths to keep hidden.

A world someone desperately wants Franki to discover, where forbidden romance and dangerous truths await. “

Darkness of Light by Stacey Marie Brown

I was really excited when I first heard the synopsis of this series and the extra kick I needed was when I saw Benjaminoftomes talking about it. I have read all four books now and hope to do a review of them, I loved the world and characters can't wait to pick up her new series. Not for the younger audience I must say very mature audience needed its way more new adult than young adult!

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
“ Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for troubled teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.”

If anyone has more recommendations let me know, I need all the books!

Have a great day and hope your doing well
Peace : )
