Teaser trailer For The Power! I need more now!

Hi!

So is anyone else loving the Titan series as much as I am!?!?! well you are going to love this, if you haven't already seen it there is a teaser trailer out, it isn't much but dayum that cover model! Plus Jennifer as an epic giveaway running on her blog!

I was so happy when I first heard she was going to go back into the world I fell in love with in the Covenant series and to see Seth is also awesome!
The first book in the series, The Return was so good I enjoyed the new direction this book takes compared to the other and to have 2 POV's at first I was worried having read others that were not so great, but come on its JLA! I always love her writing style. It is new adult and so its not suitable for everyone but still a good read if you okay with that sort of stuff. I personally would suggest reading The Covenant series before this just to get a better explanation of the world but I don't know if its necessary, I just love the characters that are in that series so I will ship it forever and always! I just love the world and the idea behind these books, I'm a super fan of mythology especially Greek so if that is your kind of thing definitely check these series out!

Here is some details on the first book in the Titan series,

THE RETURN

Goodreads Synopsis:

"The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…

It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Book 1 in the new adult paranormal TITAN series, spin-off to the best selling COVENANT series.

So as we are less than two months away from the release of The Power, book 2 in the Titan Series (Feb. 23rd 2016) I would like to share the first teaser trailer!

Its not much but if thats the start I am interested in seeing what the full trailer is going to look like. As mentioned before Jennifer is running an epic giveaway on her BLOG just click there are you will be able to get all the details!.
(Feb. 23rd 2016)

I love the style of the covers too its got that feel of the companion series but then as that older feel since it is new adult. I am so exciting for this book and am getting ready to preorder this thing!

Vampire books! AT (After Twilight)

Hi!

So with the recent release of the new Twilight gender swap novel by Stephanie Meyer, Life and Death I thought it would be call to talk about some of my favourite vampire books, and a number of these were my after Twilight reads when I still wanted more Vampires!

First I want to talk about The After Dark series by C.C Hunter!

REBORN
Title: Reborn

Author: C.C Hunter

Series: Shadow Falls: After Dark #1

Publisher: May 20th 2014 by St. Martin's Griffin

Genre: YA, Paranormal and Supernatural

Goodreads Synopsis:

"For Della Tsang, Shadow Falls isn't just a camp: it's home. As a vampire who's never fit in with her human family, it's the one place she can truly be herself. But when a mysterious new guy arrives at camp, Della’s whole world is thrown into turmoil. Chase is a vampire with secrets, who knows more than he’s telling. But the more time she spends with him, the more she begins to trust this attractive stranger—and feel drawn to him. But romance is the last thing she wants—as she keeps telling Steve, the hunky shapeshifter who won’t stop trying to win her heart. And if Della isn't careful, he just might succeed. When a new case puts everyone she cares about in danger, Della’s determined to do everything she can to save them . . . even if it means teaming up with Steve and Chase, who leave her more confused than ever. With their lives on the line, will Della and her friends survive—with their hearts intact?"

This is a continuation of the original Shadow Falls series which followed Kylie as she discovers who and what she really is, however After Dark follows one of her best friends Della Tsang!. I think you could potentially read this book by itself and still understand what is going on to an extend but the first series is so good that I think it is worth reading both! Plus both have vampires in it anyway, this series is just focused on Della and even though you get the little bits about her friends and what they are it really shows more into the vampire community in the series which is why I was so eager to read it.

Della is such a strong female character and at times reading her stubbornness and attutitde can rub me the wrong way she makes up for it in her determination and her great one liners! She has been through a lot and her family make up a lot of why she is the way she is, coming from a classic Asian family where you need to be the best and anything less is not good enough. The issues for her here is that she was turned into a vampire and everything changed, now she is at a supernatural camp, Shadow Falls. I have just started book 3 in the series which is the final I believe, I love being back in this world the setting is so great and its cool to see the world from a different perspective and delve more into the Vampire community of this world to see how it works.

Its so intricate with both there own community but also the FRU its like the FBI but for the supernatural and they run the show keeping everyone in line. And Della wants to be apart of it she is so kick butt, she wants nothing more than to make a difference the great thing about this series is that you can watch her grow and realize to not see the world so black and white. I love the relationships as well, between Della and her 2 best friends its great and so relate able, one thing I was never too happy about was that there is a love triangle in this. But its getting better and I like the way that Della is handling it at the moment. Overall its a great series and even has a few novellas that go with it that make it an even better series! Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Witches and Warlocks, Ghosts, Fae, Vampires and much more make this an epic series go check it out!

The next series woth all the lovely vampires is the House of Night Series by Kristen and P.C Cast

MARKED

Title: Marked

Author: P.C and Kristin Cast

Series: House of Night #1

Publisher: Published May 1st 2007 by St. Martin's Griffin

Genre: YA, Supernatural Vampire

Goodreads Synopsis:

"After a Vampire Tracker Marks her with a crescent moon on her forehead, 16-year-old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx and has affinities for all five elements: Air, Fire Water, Earth and Spirit. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny – with a little help from her new vampyre friends (or Nerd Herd, as Aphrodite calls them)"

This series has a lot of interesting reviews and a lot of people loved it but some didn't, I have always been on the fence about it. Some of the books are so good and have a great story to them but others can be frustrating with the lead character Zoey, BUT before you decide to fully jump in please be aware that there are 12 books in this series plus a few novellas about characters seen in the series. This is a full commitment kind of story and that was one of the reasons why I decided to finish it even when I had mixed feelings about the books.

I did like the character of Zoey, she goes through a lot of growth from the day she is marked to the end of the series and its this evolution that kept me going back to the books. Plus some of the other characters were so great and fun that I just fell in love, Stark would probably be my favourite character of the whole series! He is snarky and funny and the growth that he makes as a character is just as great as Zoeys. The relationships too in this are great as there is so many different people in the books you get to see all kinds of relationships friendships and all the ups and downs that the group go through.

The villain in the series start off really great but I think overall the series could have been wrapped up sooner. The Villains have a lot of craziness around them and I am glad that the authors did decide to do a novella about the early life of one of these characters. I also like the way the system of being a vampyre works with having cool special abilities! Like being able to control the elements of having an affinity to death plus I love the way they integrate some of the ancient ideas of the area you can really see that they took the time to look into it and research which definitely helped the story.

The world building and type of vampyre is great and unique and thats one of the reasons why I jumped in but no just that I followed it to the end! I wasn't overly happy with the ending but it was still a good series and although it took a long time I liked how some of the characters ended up.
I do love how the fact that even though they did change the covers the still kept the great pattern on them to put it in together with the marks the vampyre have.

The last series I read through my AT stage was the EVERNIGHT series by Claudia Gray

EVERNIGHT
Title: Evernight

Author: Claudia Gray

Series: Evernight Series #1

Publisher: HarperTeen Feburary 10th 2009

Genre: Paranormal/Vampire

Goodreads Synopsis:

"Bianca wants to escape.

She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.

Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.

"I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would."

But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed."

I really loved this series! The writing of this series and all of Claudia Grays books are just so good and why she has become one of my auto buy authors!. This follows Bianca as she deals with the normal life of high school yet its not as normal as you may think. It is a little spoilery saying it is about vampires but it is in such a way that you still will get a bit of a shock.

I like the way Claudia shows vampires in this way it is so different from other ones that I have read before and it does it in a way that it makes you seem closer to what humans are. It makes them seem more normal, easily relatable and some of the other beings that are in these books makes for such a interesting combination but I don't want to spoil that but it is such a refreshing change to the normal combination that authors write with vampires that it made the series even better for me.

I love the main characters in this series too there relationships are so great and funny that it puts a good mix into the plot. Bianca is such a likable character and so easy relatable, she goes through so much and makes so much changes but develops these friendships which are insightful and reflects what I have been through minus the whole paranormal aspect. Lucas is also a really cool character, he is the classic bad boy with very hard center and there is just something about him. One of my other favourite characters is Balthazar! He is just awesome but yet caring and sweet mixed with a badass quality that makes me so happy plus he gets his own book too which made me fall in love with him even more!

The setting is really cool, it goes with the vampire angle though as its so Gothic and the way I picture the school in my head is just so epic! And I like the setting for the companion book too it so mystic and thats something both have in common its just perfect for the setting and the plot. I love the Villans in this series too there are so many different sides and it seems that it is just black and white but thats a cool thing about this book it, you have that line and when its crossed your not on the other side the lines get blurred. I do have one of my favourite OTP's from this series but I don't want to say without spoiling the series! there relationship is so epic, they make such sacrifices for each other and not only do they grow into themselves they grow together in a great way as well. Its sad but awesome, one of my favourite series!

Plus I am not normally a fan of people on covers of books but I do kinda like these and I really like the font that they used for the writing, These were one of my first books that I bought and I still have them nicely on my book shelf at home. Makes me miss all my lovely books!

So those are some of my favourite vampire books, if anyone knows more please let me know I always get in the mood for a good paranormal series from time to time. MUST READ ALL THE BOOKS!

Hope everyone is doing well and have a great day
Peace : )

Epic Girl Characters! Tella and Juliette!

Hi!

I want to start a series of blogs where I talk about 2 different awesome female characters who are from different series but really have a lot in common! Today I want to talk about Tella Holloway from the Fire & Flood series by Victoria Scott and Juliette Ferrars from the Shatter Me trilogy by Tahereh Mafi.

These are 2 of my favourite books that I have read this year, these are the kinds of books that lock you down until you are finished I completely fell into these books, the characters the plot, the relationships the settings and the badass female main characters!

FIRE & FLOOD

Title: Fire & Flood

Author: Victoria Scott

Series: Fire & Flood book #1

Publisher: Chicken House Ltd, 6. March 2014 (They did this cover version)

Genre: YA, Dystopia

Goodreads Synopsis:

"Time is slipping away....

Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can't determine what's wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She's lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she's helpless to change anything.

Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It's an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother's illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there's no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.

The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can't trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?"

First I just want to again say how flipping awesome I think these original covers are! So beautiful and I made sure I got both with these covers. I have talked about this book series a bit on my blog and I know I get bad with the ones I like too much but one thing I loved about this is the character of Tella, she starts off being such a girly girl and wishes she was back in her home town hanging with her best friend going to get coffee and shopping. And then she gets this invite to join the Brimestone Bleed and she starts to show how strong she is, but she never loses that original personality. Sure she goes through things that no one should ever be made to go through and this makes her have such a tough shell, to make decisions when she needs to not just for her but for the contenders she chooses to work with. Watching her change and go through all of this crap yet still coming out at the end of the day with a such sash and she sees the whole situation from such a real view I mean “When I first saw the sand, I thought it was beautiful. Like maybe it'd be fun to just roll around in and make sand angels. Now I know the truth, that sand is actually the love child of proud parents Marie Antoinette and Joseph Stalin.” I loved that she was there for her brother to help him but she never got pulled in to the point where she lost herself, in all reality she found her voice and she found herself.

I know this is all a little spoilery but the growth Tella goes through was one of the reasons that pulled me in, plus her great sashy comments helped too and well there was Guy ;) The amount of one liners is so great in this series “Something is definitely up. That or my family is auditioning for a remake of The Shining.” And who doesn't want a flipping Pandora people!

I highly recommend, definitely a 5 star book and 5 star series, I just wish she would write more! I need to know what would happen next!

Besides having a kick butt character in the Shatter Me series is the fact that Juliette also goes through epic growth and is also set in a dystopian world but this is where to me it ends and that's why I like these 2 characters because they are so different but have been through hell and still come out the other side with a purpose to make some shit go down!

SHATTER ME

Title: Shatter Me

Author: Tahereh Mafi

Series: Shatter Me Book#1

Publisher: HarperCollins (15. November 2011)

Genre: YA, Dystopia

Goodreads Synopsis:

"I have a curse
I have a gift

I am a monster
I'm more than human

My touch is lethal
My touch is power

I am their weapon
I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong colour.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior."

I really loved this series and I know that it has gotten a lot of mixed reviews but this is a great story! The things I do love about it as a hole would be the premise I am a sucker for this and also the writing I really loved the way she painted a picture in my head and such beautifully wove the story together. Tahereh Mafi you deserve a pat on the back for this one girl!

I was a little eh about Juliette at the beginning but once I started into this book I fell in love with her, she is so scared and been such shit through her life that it is totally understandable that she is the way she is. She is fragile but you keep reading and you get to watch as she not just grows into herself but how she takes charge of her life instead of being scared of the world she embraces it. She goes through a lot though and its cool to watch as she stumbles through the story at first realising she has 2 legs and that she needs to learn to stand on her own but to also let people in and be open to the world. I mean the world is pretty flipping crazy and one thing I loved about this is I went into it blind I had seen youtube videos of it from some of my favourites but they never said what the book was about and to go in and be opened up to this world was one of the reasons it made for a great reading experience. I also love how Juliette is at the beginning with people but to watch how she is with other characters as from the description you see she has been by herself for such a long time she doesn't really know how to react and its great to see her learn about people and especially her relationships with some of the main guys in the books Warner, Adam and Kenji.

Book #2
Book #3

This series is made up of 3 full books and 2 novellas, one told by Warner and the other is told through Adam who are 2 amazing characters in themselves who really make the book plus I totally love Warner's Novella like Oh My Gosh!

Book #2.5 Adam
Book #1.5 Warner

Definitely a great series and worth the read, all of them! Give it a chance and I know you guys will love it! 5 star series again! Though I love the other covers, sorry but this first one is not very nice and I really hope that they make a cover to match the others. Not a big fan of straight on people on covers very much : /, I did notice that the boys novellas have the eyes closed while Juliette's are open, metaphor! I think so ;D

So what do you guys think let me know if you have read these and what you think!, more series reviews coming up soon :D Love books and gaming so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hope you are great and having a great day

Peace : )

THE RAVEN KING COVER!

Hi

I need to right another blog for today as the cover for the 4th book in the Raven cycle has just come out! I completely love this series is so different and the writing is AMAZING, I don't want it to end but I need this book.

The end of the 3rd book was like NO! But now we must wait, Maggie Stiefvater has said it will be out 4/26/16 LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!

Here is the beautiful cover!

I originally had the first book on my kindle but then the other 2 were on special so I bought them and I'm so glad I did these covers are so awesome, check out the covers and this series.

Start today with THE RAVEN BOYS

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore."
Goodreads

Definitely give this series a go, this would be one of my favourites for this year! DOn't know why I waited so long to pick it up!

Books I have read lately!

Hey!

So I have a serious problem when it comes to my to be read books... I find a series and then want to try all the books just all of them HOWEVER I have actually read most of the books that I did put on my TBR lately so that has to mean something right?
Darkest Elements #2

Darkest Elements #0.5

Darkest Elements #1

Darkest Elements #3
I have read half of my Jennifer L Armentrout fantasy TBR, having read the complete Dark Elements series and OMG I loved it! The characters the story the demons, the gargoyles everything was so good and one of my favourite books this year is definitely Ever Last Breath! This series was so good, though I made the mistake of not reading Bitter Sweet Love first even though the series still made sense before I read it! I have both cover options here I don't know which one I think is better.

I have also read The Return, the spin off series from the Covenant series and that was also super good! I loved being back in that world it was fun and so awesome to have the 2 point of views it was refreshing. I can't wait to read the next book in the series (Totally hope we get some Alex and Aidan!).
Titan #1 (This cover though ; )

I have not read 2 on that challenge of mine being Wicked and Obsession which are 2 new adult series so not for the younger reader but I am still excited to get into these and I so have both of them!

I have also finished the group of series by R.K Ryals! this was 3 series in total, The Redemption Series which is epic Dayton's story (no spoilers), The Acropolis Series which is Gargoyle Conor's story and Thorne Trilogy Series which is Monroe's witch story! I had mixed feelings about each of these series and will try to a full series review for each of the series to get all the feels out. My favourite I think was the Thorne Series got a love me some Monroe and Luther!
Dayton's Story
Monroe's Story

Conor's Story

I have finished the current books in the Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater , can I just say these books are magical! its like everything I want all in one book and dayum shit is going down! I need the next book bad.
I think my favourite would be Blue Lily Lily Blue which is the 3rd book in the series and can I just say the writing style and the way that she weaves this story that makes it so easy to like and to get so into the stories I feel for Blue, Ronan, Adam, Noah and Gansey they are such great characters plus Ronsey is like my favourite bromance ever! I can not fault this series its literally AMAZING this will be automatically on my favourites of all time and I can't wait for the last one! Although I need to get The Raven Boys again because I only have it on Kindle and I have the other 2 in an actual book, plus yo dem covers bros!

Book #3
Book #1

Book #2

Other books that I have read but have not talked about on much but been on my original TBR some of them I think, gosh too many books and not enough time,

Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott, I read these not too long ago and I really do not get why I waited, I was in the perfect mood for this book and it delivered everything I wanted and more! The concept the characters the plot its totally dun dun DUN! There are so many aspects from heaps of other books that it just works plus I really want a pandora like in the books, who wouldn't want an epic buddy who protects you and can do cool tricks!? I got the original covers also of the second one Salt and Stone SOOOOO PRETTY! One of my favourite series of the year hands down! However cover change... not happy about it
Book #1

I have finally started the After Dark series by C.C Hunter with Reborn, I didn't know how much I missed this world till I went back and am so happy that she kept this world going with the feisty vampire Della's story. I do miss Kyle but its cool to see everyone from the original Shadow falls series and dayum something is brewing! I have the next book Eternal as well and this was just as good! I am super excited to read the last book and a little sad to see it all end. I have also said the ebook for Miranda called Spellbinder which was so cool! finally getting some Miranda time and she is so different from Kylie and Della that it was so refreshing. Also to go with the After Dark series I have read the Novella Unbreakable from the new guy in the Shadow Falls universe Chase Tallman, so cool to see his roots
Novella #4
Book #2

Novella #3

Another book that I read was See Me by Wendy Higgins, I wasn't sure if I would like the story as it follows Robyn as she is betrothed to someone from birth, it is set when fae are real and her family have this kind of blood. It was perfect for me after having read a hardcore fantasy book its cute and just a gosh darn lovely book. I loved her Sweet Evil trilogy and this just made me love her writing even more she can write a great story.

This series! I need to read book 2!
Book #1 Though I want more!

And last but not least I have read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, I have been wanting to read this book for so long but just never got around to doing so and now I realize how much I have been missing out! This was such a cool book, the concept is so different and I praise this woman for coming up with this its not just original its so detailed and just YES!, I can't wait to get the next one the first one was super good!

I have been reading a lot more and will have a couple of series reviews coming soon!

Hope you are all well and having a great day!
Peace :)
