Currently reading!

Hey Guys!

Surprisingly I have not read that much at the moment! It has just been catching up on series that already have books out!

Weirdly enough for me I'm in the process of reading 3 different books depending what mood I am in!
I'm reading West by Stacey Marie Brown which if you have been to this blog before you know I was super hyped for! I just didn't have time when it came out so I just have started reading now and am liking it so far. You do need to have read her Darkness series starting with Darkness of Light as it does feature characters from that as well as her Collector series which starts with City in Embers but those are just extra 'OMG its so and so' I have mixed feelings going into this as I did love the character of West but when I read the synopsis I was a little hmm about it so far its okay I'm just hoping it will get better. As far as I know its a stand alone book to bridge the gap between the Darkness series and her new series featuring an OG Kennedy. West follows the story of a Dark Dweller, which is a type of dark fae as he tries to get his mojo back and is sent on a quest with a beautiful siren by the leader of the Dark Fae! This book is not safe for everyone as I would consider all of Stacey Marie Brown's books as NA with violence and sexy times.

Another book I am reading is an ARC copy of the 5th book in the elementals series The Hands of Time by Michelle Madow, being part of her street team means that I got the book and will have a review up soon for it. As this is the 5th book in a series I don't want to say too much but as it was a cliff hanger with Book 4 I am more then happy to know what happens next especially as it wasn't my favourite in the series. Its the conclusion so I am so excited to see how this ends, this is a Greek mythology series around witches I have a small review in a blog post I did earlier and you can actually get the book free! It follows Nicole as she and her family move to a new town where it isn't exactly what Nicole realizes her first day at school she is told she is a witch!

The last book that I am currently reading is Dark Magic by Madeline Freeman this is the 6th and final book in the Clearwater Witches series. The series starts with Crystal Magic which is cool to have these covers side by side to show how far Krissa has come! I have really enjoyed this series so far as I have always had a thing about witch books. After the cliff hanger in the 5th book Cursed Magic finally I can find out whats happening with my girl Krissa and for the love of everything good in books hope she gets on my ship! This series follows Krissa as she is forced to move to a new town living with her aunt Jodi, some of the mysterious things that have been going on in her life start to make sense and craziness ensues! I like the character of Krissa she is not what I would normally like but she isn't too whiny and she is thoughtful plus caring. It has a great bunch of side characters who are both her friends and enemies so its been an enjoyable read!

Hope you guys are doing well!
Peace : )

Blizzard Games I want to play!

Hey!

I always think of myself as a noob gamer so lets talk about more games I could try be a noob at! I love Blizzard games not only can they make a great and fun game they also make some epic characters, stories and check out there trailers!

Overwatch

This game has been out for ages but I think its a good one and I think brings a bit some something else to a normal shooter game. I mean not only do you get to work together and fight but you get call abilities like Mei who shoots ice, Ana who puts people to sleep or even Bastion who is just a giant machine gun robot! I think this adds so much to the game and makes it really fun! I mean you get really cool maps where you have to secure a point or escort a payload. The maps are in different places too like Temple of Anubis in Egypt or Route 66 in USA. Not to mention you get to level up and get cool tags or outfits!

I really want to give this more of a go and see if I can whip some ass!

Guild Wars 2

I have talked about this before on my blog but I really want to get into this game more especially with the new stories they add. I mean it can be a little annoying to play the same thing over and over again but they continue to add more stories to get cooler items and the expansion Heart of Thorns. It is also now free to play if you want to give it a go, you don't get everything but its a great way to have a look at the game. Its great with different races and classes like the massive Norns or the cool plant people Sylvari and then pick cool classes like Revenant or Mesmer!. I mean you have World vs World, where you get into a team and you have to take over the world with you colours, then PVP which is obvious Player VS Player where you are in a team of 5 and battle against other players. Then just the normal story where you do your own story of your character and then the new episodes the add. Another cool thing they added is Fractuals which help get awesome items and epic boss fights.

Always worth a second look this game!

World of Warcraft

I never thought I would say this, maybe its due to the hype of this game at the moment with the newest expansion or watching BF play the earlier expansion with friends but I kinda want to give it a go! Its similar to GW2 where you have different races like Undead or Night Elf and you get to be either the Horde or the Alliance! Then choose a class like a Druid, Monk or Paladin.
You can do cool quests, raids and dungeons plus its a great game to play with others and make new friends but also get some cool items. I always thought that it was too complicated because some people have so many skills and so much going on with there screen! But I have been watching a bit more and so many streamers have been playing the new expansion Legion, there is one thing that Blizzard know how to do besides make great games is to make awesome Trailers I would really look at some of these cause dam!

I need more games to play I know once I get a laptop or set up I will be able to play more and find more exciting games!

Hope your doing great and have a great day!
Peace : )

First in a Series books!

Hey!

So I have been trying to branch out and read more different and new series, the great thing about some of the authors I have been looking into have been from some really great Indie Authors!

Here is a small insight into what I have been reading and maybe some of these might be a bit interesting, if anyone has more suggestions let me know, my TBR is getting bigger and bigger! Too many books not enough time!

IGNITED by Desni Dantone

This was a series I found when I joined a Facebook group where you talk about myth books, I orignally joined for a different series but saw this was free on Amazon so I thought why not try it! I'm really glad that I did since I have been in such a mythology mood this was perfect. I went in not knowing much about it but it was great learning about what was going on with the main character Kris. There are some lovely guys and some action with great relationships, and I really love that everything gets crazy but we still have a BFF friendship shown!
It gives off a bit Jennifer L armentrout with Wendy Higgins and just epicness! I recommend if you are in the mood for some angst but badass situations I would pick this series up!

Author: Desni Dantone
Series: Ignited #1 (Still Free on Amazon)
Published: August 28th 2013 by Laine D Publishing
Genre: YA/Mythology/Paranormal
Goodreads Synopsis:

"Seventeen year old Kris Young is on the run from a throng of superhuman golden-eyed freaks hell-bent on seeing her dead, and she doesn't know why. Good thing she has her guardian angel to protect her...sort of.

Kris is aided by Nathan, the mysterious man that ends up being anything but angelic when he rescues her for the fourth time in fourteen years. Even if the handsome hero illusion is shattered by his harsh treatment of her, he knows how to fight this strange enemy and is determined to keep her safe at all costs.

As the body count rises in their wake, Nathan introduces Kris to a world in which not everyone is human and the battle lines between good and evil are clearly drawn. Kris's piece in the puzzle is something neither is aware of and, as they uncover the truth, neither is prepared for what they find. Overcoming twists and revelations that shatter both of their lives, they discover that nothing is as it seems and nothing, least of all their hearts, are safe.

From debut author, Desni Dantone, Ignited is the first novel in a tale of first love, mystery and adventure that will introduce you to an exciting new world as Kris discovers how she fits in it."

LADY MIDNIGHT by Cassandra Clare

This is from the amazing Cassandra Clare as she introduces us to a new set of shadowhunters and the challenges they have to face! This is one of my most highly anticipated books of 2016 especially because of how much I love the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices. If you have read the Mortal Instruments then you do see the some of the characters in Lady Midnight which I liked and I did enjoy the book.

Its great to see another kick butt female character in this world so much different to the ones before her. I also love the friendship and family in this one, since this is such a larger family then the other books its nice to see and a much needed change. I'm really excited to see where this goes in the future and I hope its going to be good with just as much action!

The darkly magical world of Shadowhunters has captured the imaginations of millions of readers across the globe. Join the adventure in Lady Midnight, the long-awaited first volume of a new trilogy from Cassandra Clare. "

THE PROPHECY OF SHADOWS by Michelle Madow

This is another great author that I just stumbled across and never looked back! The author is super sweet and great too! I really liked this story I mean wouldn't want witches and greek mythology its a great combination, the other thing that is great about this series and it puts in stories from mythology that not very many people look into and it gives it a great edge.

I do like the characters as well! The friendships are so great and putting such a crazy group of teenage's that you get a bit of everything even a bit of love! I like the way the story goes and it has its twists and turns so excited to see whats next!

All's fair when you're in love with War.

For seventeen-year-old Mia Ahlström, a world ruled by order is the only world she allows. A lifetime of chore charts, to-do lists and study schedules have helped earn her a spot in Redwood State University’s engineering program. And while her five-year plan includes finding her very own happily-evah-aftah, years at an all girls’ boarding school left her woefully unprepared for keg parties and co-ed extracurricular activities.

So nothing surprises her more than catching the eye of Tyr Fredriksen at her first college party. The imposing Swede is arrogantly charming, stubbornly overprotective, and runs hot-and-cold in ways that defy reason . . . until Mia learns that she’s fallen for the Norse God of War; an immortal battle deity hiding on Midgard (Earth) to protect a valuable Asgardian treasure from a feral enemy. With a price on his head, Tyr brings more than a little excitement to Mia’s rigidly controlled life. Choosing Tyr may be the biggest distraction—or the greatest adventure—she’s ever had.

Perfekt Order Excerpt:
“Can I come in?” Tyr asked. His hands were still open—maybe to prove he was unarmed. Not that it mattered much—a guy who could fly and battle a creature that size wouldn’t need a weapon to debilitate me.
I gave him my finest stink eye.
“Please, baby. Let me explain.”
My eyes darted wildly between the forest and my boyfriend. There was a beast in the woods, but there was a man unaffected by gravity on the porch. One who had most definitely lied to me. I wasn’t sure which unnerved me more.
What I really wanted was to understand; understand how Tyr had done what he’d done; understand how he and Freya seemed human enough, but obviously weren’t; understand how that wolf was so powerful; understand how, if Tyr was an alien or a superhero or a mutant or whatever he was, how we could possibly have any kind of a relationship; understand why everyone but me had Henrik’s absolutely awesome lighters.
“I’m coming inside.” Tyr walked slowly, palms up, and stepped through the door. Then he walked backwards to the closet, where he hung up his crossbow and the two space guns. He shut the door gently, entered a code that I assumed locked the room, and closed the cover on the keypad.
I still hadn’t moved.
“Can I touch you?” he asked.
I nodded. Tyr slowly moved to my side. He took one of my balled fists and pulled me from the door.
“No more secrets,” he vowed. He pulled the lighter out of his back pocket and threw it off the porch. “Henrik didn’t make a special lighter. This is all me.”
He held out one hand and muttered something in Swedish I didn’t understand. Light shot from his hand and I spun around to follow its trajectory. It hit what looked like a clear screen at the edge of the woods, and traced an arc around the house in a half-dome, encasing the property in a silvery coating. Tiny spots floated gently from the dome, like thousands of luminescent snowflakes, and soon the ground around the house was covered in a glittery powder. Tyr snapped his fingers and the powder disappeared. Everything was as it had been—it was as if the whole night had never happened.
My knees buckled as the room started to spin. Tyr caught me just before I hit the ground. He swept me up in his arms and carried me to the couch.
“Okay, prinsessa. Time for the talk.”
He tucked a heavy throw around my legs and sat next to me. He kept one of his shoulders an inch from mine. I cautiously turned my head to appraise him. On the outside, nothing had changed. His eyes were the same midnight blue, his jaw the same perfect square, and the enormous arms folded calmly across his chest were the same ones I loved to curl up in.
But everything felt different. I realized I had no idea who this man actually was, where he came from, and what else he was capable of. The only thing I knew for sure was that I needed answers. Real answers, this time. No more secrets.
I drew a shaky breath and spoke the words that would change my life forever.
“Who are you?”

Rewatching TV shows!

Hey!

I love me some TV and some of the classics are always worth having a second look! or third or fourth... So lets talk about 3 of my favourite rewatches!

Probably looked at all of these before but I think you can never have enough especially when there is always buzz around these shows.

FRIENDS!

I just love this show! I can never get enough of it and have rewatched it more then once or twice! I have great memories for sleep over parties at friends where we would rewatch them and everytime you heard that intro you had to do the clap, I bet everyone did that don't lie!
One thing I love about Friends is that you just laugh over and over no matter how many times you have seen them and its great for background noise too when you just need something to watch. Infact I have it on right now!

The friendships and stories are so great and it really was a big deal when it came out as there was not many shows like this before. I think that it can be enjoyed by everyone no matter the age and I think I will rewatch it for ever!

VERONICA MARS

I talk about this show enough as well and I think its just cause I'm so sour about how it all ended! I think this was a show that could have done so much better if it had of aired at the right time! When this came out there was just so many TV shows that were supernatural etc that no one really appreciated it. I am glad for the cult following that did happen with this because we still got a movie out of it as well.

The characters and snarky banter just makes you fall in love with these people and you want them to be happy. It was hard though having a build up and then since the show just got cancelled you never really got an ending to it and it left so much unfinished. I was happy when they managed to still get a movie out of it and that was one of my favourite movies. I just love the mix of mystery with teenage drama and just all around epicness!

GILMORE GIRLS

I love this show! I can not rave more about this, the characters, the relationships and the small town goodness makes this show hard not to love! Its really great to see the relationship between mother and daughter plus there banter together is actually my favourite thing ever! It also is so relatable too watching Rory go through everything that normal teenage girls do is one of the reasons I think the show did so well!

I was not happy with how the show ended just because that wasn't what the person who wrote the series wanted, there was a lot of drama and the created left the series before season 7. So it does make me happy to see it going back to its roots in the new netflix series! To see how the show should have ended!

I'm a TV buff so if anyone has more shows I should watch let me know asap!
I hope your doing great and have a great day
Peace :)

I'm back to blogging!

Hi!

Super sorry that I have stopped writing so much! I have just been crazy with work since its getting busier and busier for me so not much fun.

I have been taking more work on and although its great for some extra cash it has taken a lot out of me. I pretty much have no free time for the month of September so will be working hard these last few weeks to start my blog up again.

The only exciting news I do have is I'm going on holiday in December! I'm going back home to NZ to spend the season with the fam, me and BF are going on a 35+ hour flight thats the only part I'm not excited for I hate flying. Maybe that is why I have stayed here so long cause bugger flying all the way back!

I hope to have a bunch of reviews out on my blog with single books and also some series reviews! I have read some great books over the last few months. The only down side is I have been in a reading slump! Some of my most anticipated reads took well over a month to read and it wasn't just cause it was a great story, maybe I need a post about that how to get out of reading slumps! I have also not played any games at all! I have watched a lot learning more about a few that once I can buy my own laptop I will be looking at playing so hopefully I will be able to do a few posts about that too!

So let the fun begin!

Hope your all doing well and have a great day!
Peace : )

I want all the Mythology Books

Hey!

So I have been in a bit of a reading slump ad have been trying to slowly get out of it by reading a new series about Norse Mythology so far I'm really loving it! Its called the Runes Series by Ednah Walters. If you love mythology I would check it out! It has Gods and Valkyries but also other characters and its cool to see a series where the main subject isn't the gods or children of gods but more about the other classes in Norse Mythology that play such an important role in the workings of that society. I have always been a huge fan of any mythology which you may notice with some of the post I have done about anticipated books (Scarlet Rain the Escaped #2, The Power Titan #2, Perfekt Match Aere #4) so I have been really trying to find some new ones to get into and today I wanted to do a list of some of my favourite Mythology series they are just Greek and Norse but I will get there!

The Runes Series by Ednah Walters

I really love this series so far, the first 2 books follow the main character of Raine as she deals with her esentric mother missing father and high school life but when she gets a mysterious sexy neighbour she finds out more about him but also uncovers something about herself! This is the trope I have read sooooo much of but I like this twist on it and I find that if a book can find a great story to tell and the characters are great it is still enjoyable. I mean this is something we see a lot of in YA/NA books so give me some more! I love the mythology of this as Norse is so interesting especially some of the lesser known people around the gods I highly recommend this series. After the first 2 books there is also Cora, Raine's best friends story as well as a companion series with there friend Eirik. So have a look into this world and let me know what you think, the last book in Eriks companion series just came out so check this series out!

The Escaped Series by Kristin Cast

This is a series that I have talked abut before but I really loved the first book and was so happy to see something else from Greek mythology! Normally you get the god stuff but this follows the son of the furies maiden, mother and crone as he must help save the underworld and not let all of the evil spirits back on earth. Its about fates and some loooove but I liked the first installment and did make me want to pick up the next one. The second book comes out this year very soon I believe so a great time to pick up the series if you are into this sort of thing! I totally love the covers too they are so simple yet super beautiful! I love me some covers

Titan Series and The Covenant Series by Jennifer L Armentrout

I love Jennifer L Armentrout's books! they are really some of my favourite ever and this series had me with its story and characters! The Titan series is a spin off from the Covenant series where the Greek  gods are real and there offspring many generations removed live on earth protecting the mortals. They are split into 2 groups the pure bloods and the ones that guard them half bloods. This creates a crazy adventure of epic proportions, it makes for some great character development and relationships which make you just fall in love! I have some of my favorite ships in this series and would recommend starting these series they are not for everyone as the Titan series does lead more to NA rather than YA.

Half-Blood

Title: Half-Blood

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Published: Spencer Hill Press 2011

Series: The Covenant Series #1

Genre: YA/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is.
If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck"

The Return
Title: The Return

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Published: Spencer Hills Press 2015

Series: Titans #1

Genre: NA/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…

It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.
Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.
Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.
Book 1 in the new adult paranormal TITAN series, spin-off to the best selling COVENANT series."

The Aere and The Elsker series by S.T Bende

I discovered this author at the end of last year and fell in love with the interesting take on Norse mythology. It's great to see authors spin mythology especially one as dark as Norse I mean ragnarok anyone and I love the balance ST  has between having enough action to grab you but also the character and relationship building that gives the books  almost gentle nature. I liked the gentle side seen in the Elsker series where the story felt so much more about the characters and there relationship. I do wish the series had been spread out more but it's still a lovely story. The Aere is not as gentle and does have a lot more action, this series really develops the Norse world through its characters and the relationships that are created I mean some are gods and they been around a while! I'm excited to see where this series goes as each book has been from a different kick butt females point of view. There are also some cool novellas to the Elsker saga as well.

Elsker

Perfekt Order

Series: Aere Saga #1

Genre: YA/Fantasy/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "All's fair when you're in love with War.

For seventeen-year-old Mia Ahlström, a world ruled by order is the only world she allows. A lifetime of chore charts, to-do lists and study schedules have helped earn her a spot at Redwood State University’s engineering program. And while her five year plan includes finding her very own happily-evah-aftah, years at an all-girls boarding school left her feeling woefully unprepared for keg parties and co-ed extracurricular activities.

Choosing Tyr may be the biggest distraction—or the greatest adventure—she’s ever had."
