Rewatching TV shows!

Hey!

I love me some TV and some of the classics are always worth having a second look! or third or fourth... So lets talk about 3 of my favourite rewatches!

Probably looked at all of these before but I think you can never have enough especially when there is always buzz around these shows.

FRIENDS!

I just love this show! I can never get enough of it and have rewatched it more then once or twice! I have great memories for sleep over parties at friends where we would rewatch them and everytime you heard that intro you had to do the clap, I bet everyone did that don't lie!
One thing I love about Friends is that you just laugh over and over no matter how many times you have seen them and its great for background noise too when you just need something to watch. Infact I have it on right now!

The friendships and stories are so great and it really was a big deal when it came out as there was not many shows like this before. I think that it can be enjoyed by everyone no matter the age and I think I will rewatch it for ever!

VERONICA MARS

I talk about this show enough as well and I think its just cause I'm so sour about how it all ended! I think this was a show that could have done so much better if it had of aired at the right time! When this came out there was just so many TV shows that were supernatural etc that no one really appreciated it. I am glad for the cult following that did happen with this because we still got a movie out of it as well.

The characters and snarky banter just makes you fall in love with these people and you want them to be happy. It was hard though having a build up and then since the show just got cancelled you never really got an ending to it and it left so much unfinished. I was happy when they managed to still get a movie out of it and that was one of my favourite movies. I just love the mix of mystery with teenage drama and just all around epicness!

GILMORE GIRLS

I love this show! I can not rave more about this, the characters, the relationships and the small town goodness makes this show hard not to love! Its really great to see the relationship between mother and daughter plus there banter together is actually my favourite thing ever! It also is so relatable too watching Rory go through everything that normal teenage girls do is one of the reasons I think the show did so well!

I was not happy with how the show ended just because that wasn't what the person who wrote the series wanted, there was a lot of drama and the created left the series before season 7. So it does make me happy to see it going back to its roots in the new netflix series! To see how the show should have ended!

I'm a TV buff so if anyone has more shows I should watch let me know asap!
I hope your doing great and have a great day
Peace :)

I'm back to blogging!

Hi!

Super sorry that I have stopped writing so much! I have just been crazy with work since its getting busier and busier for me so not much fun.

I have been taking more work on and although its great for some extra cash it has taken a lot out of me. I pretty much have no free time for the month of September so will be working hard these last few weeks to start my blog up again.

The only exciting news I do have is I'm going on holiday in December! I'm going back home to NZ to spend the season with the fam, me and BF are going on a 35+ hour flight thats the only part I'm not excited for I hate flying. Maybe that is why I have stayed here so long cause bugger flying all the way back!

I hope to have a bunch of reviews out on my blog with single books and also some series reviews! I have read some great books over the last few months. The only down side is I have been in a reading slump! Some of my most anticipated reads took well over a month to read and it wasn't just cause it was a great story, maybe I need a post about that how to get out of reading slumps! I have also not played any games at all! I have watched a lot learning more about a few that once I can buy my own laptop I will be looking at playing so hopefully I will be able to do a few posts about that too!

So let the fun begin!

Hope your all doing well and have a great day!
Peace : )

I want all the Mythology Books

Hey!

So I have been in a bit of a reading slump ad have been trying to slowly get out of it by reading a new series about Norse Mythology so far I'm really loving it! Its called the Runes Series by Ednah Walters. If you love mythology I would check it out! It has Gods and Valkyries but also other characters and its cool to see a series where the main subject isn't the gods or children of gods but more about the other classes in Norse Mythology that play such an important role in the workings of that society. I have always been a huge fan of any mythology which you may notice with some of the post I have done about anticipated books (Scarlet Rain the Escaped #2, The Power Titan #2, Perfekt Match Aere #4) so I have been really trying to find some new ones to get into and today I wanted to do a list of some of my favourite Mythology series they are just Greek and Norse but I will get there!

The Runes Series by Ednah Walters

I really love this series so far, the first 2 books follow the main character of Raine as she deals with her esentric mother missing father and high school life but when she gets a mysterious sexy neighbour she finds out more about him but also uncovers something about herself! This is the trope I have read sooooo much of but I like this twist on it and I find that if a book can find a great story to tell and the characters are great it is still enjoyable. I mean this is something we see a lot of in YA/NA books so give me some more! I love the mythology of this as Norse is so interesting especially some of the lesser known people around the gods I highly recommend this series. After the first 2 books there is also Cora, Raine's best friends story as well as a companion series with there friend Eirik. So have a look into this world and let me know what you think, the last book in Eriks companion series just came out so check this series out!

RUNES

Title: Runes

Author: Ednah Walters

Series: Runes #1

Published: Firetrail Publishing June 2013

Genre: Mythology/YA/Paranormal

Goodreads Synopsis: "Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life"

I love the design on the covers too I think its really cool and pretty!

The Escaped Series by Kristin Cast

This is a series that I have talked abut before but I really loved the first book and was so happy to see something else from Greek mythology! Normally you get the god stuff but this follows the son of the furies maiden, mother and crone as he must help save the underworld and not let all of the evil spirits back on earth. Its about fates and some loooove but I liked the first installment and did make me want to pick up the next one. The second book comes out this year very soon I believe so a great time to pick up the series if you are into this sort of thing! I totally love the covers too they are so simple yet super beautiful! I love me some covers

AMBER SMOKE

Title: Amber Smoke

Author: Kristin Cast

Series: The Escaped #1

Published: Division Publishing June 2015

Genre: NA/Paranormal/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "There is a world that runs parallel to our own, a world in which the souls of the damned are caged, where they are looked over by the Furies, and where they spend eternity in torment, mirroring the devastation and mayhem they created when alive.

Someone has opened the cage.

The worst of terrors has crossed the barrier that separates our world from theirs, and the Furies send a great, albeit untested warrior—their only son, Alek—to try to bring those souls back. He is young and handsome, headstrong and impulsive, and he won’t be able to do it alone.

Eva has grown up, beautiful and beloved, but surrounded by secrets. First, she will be hunted in an ancient feud that will threaten her life. Then, she will become the hunter.

With the police closing in and two worlds on the verge of crumbling around them, Alek and Eva must find each other, discover the limits of their powers, and work together to save everything they hold dear, including one another."

Titan Series and The Covenant Series by Jennifer L Armentrout

I love Jennifer L Armentrout's books! they are really some of my favourite ever and this series had me with its story and characters! The Titan series is a spin off from the Covenant series where the Greek  gods are real and there offspring many generations removed live on earth protecting the mortals. They are split into 2 groups the pure bloods and the ones that guard them half bloods. This creates a crazy adventure of epic proportions, it makes for some great character development and relationships which make you just fall in love! I have some of my favorite ships in this series and would recommend starting these series they are not for everyone as the Titan series does lead more to NA rather than YA.

Half-Blood

Title: Half-Blood

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Published: Spencer Hill Press 2011

Series: The Covenant Series #1

Genre: YA/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is.
If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck"

The Return
Title: The Return

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Published: Spencer Hills Press 2015

Series: Titans #1

Genre: NA/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…

It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.
Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.
Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.
Book 1 in the new adult paranormal TITAN series, spin-off to the best selling COVENANT series."

The Aere and The Elsker series by S.T Bende

I discovered this author at the end of last year and fell in love with the interesting take on Norse mythology. It's great to see authors spin mythology especially one as dark as Norse I mean ragnarok anyone and I love the balance ST  has between having enough action to grab you but also the character and relationship building that gives the books  almost gentle nature. I liked the gentle side seen in the Elsker series where the story felt so much more about the characters and there relationship. I do wish the series had been spread out more but it's still a lovely story. The Aere is not as gentle and does have a lot more action, this series really develops the Norse world through its characters and the relationships that are created I mean some are gods and they been around a while! I'm excited to see where this series goes as each book has been from a different kick butt females point of view. There are also some cool novellas to the Elsker saga as well.

Elsker
Title: Elsker

Author: S.T Bende

Published: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform 2013

Series: The Elsker Saga #1

Genre: YA/Fantasy/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs. But when she transfers from her one-stoplight Oregon town to Cardiff University in Wales, she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. His cashmere sweaters and old world charm mask a warrior who's spent an eternity fighting for his very existence. Ull is an honest-to-goodness Norse god — an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. On top of being marked for death, Asgardian law prohibits Ull from tying his fate to a mortal. No matter what she feels for Ull, Kristia knows she's the one thing he can never have.

With Ragnarok on the horizon and a lunatic haunting her dreams, Kristia has to find a way to convince Ull that breaking the rules is the only way to survive; that defying the order he's sworn to uphold is their only chance to be together. And when someone starts asking the wrong questions, Kristia realizes the crazy visions she's had all her life might be the key to saving their realms... even if they end up costing her her life."

Perfekt Order

Title: Perfekt Order

Author: S.T Bende

Published: S.T Bende 2015

Series: Aere Saga #1

Genre: YA/Fantasy/Mythology

Goodreads Synopsis: "All's fair when you're in love with War.

For seventeen-year-old Mia Ahlström, a world ruled by order is the only world she allows. A lifetime of chore charts, to-do lists and study schedules have helped earn her a spot at Redwood State University’s engineering program. And while her five year plan includes finding her very own happily-evah-aftah, years at an all-girls boarding school left her feeling woefully unprepared for keg parties and co-ed extracurricular activities.

So nothing surprises her more than catching the eye of Tyr Fredriksen at her first college party. The imposing Swede is arrogantly charming, stubbornly overprotective, and runs hot-and-cold in ways that defy reason . . . until Mia learns that she’s fallen for the Norse God of War; an immortal battle deity hiding on Midgard (Earth) to protect a valuable Asgardian treasure from a feral enemy. With a price on his head, Tyr brings more than a little excitement to Mia’s rigidly controlled life. Choosing Tyr may be the biggest distraction—or the greatest adventure—she’s ever had."

I love mythology and can't wait to get even more into this genre, if anyone has anymore suggestions I Need them asap though my TBR is pretty bi so many not yet

I hope you are doing well and have a great day

Happy release day Stacey Marie Brown!!

Hey guys!

Finally we have a release date for the final book in the collector series by the amazing Stacey Marie Brown,  finally I get to see how this story ends I mean such a cliff hanger at the end too!  She did a great Q and A last month and still wouldn't give us a release date but it comes out tomorrow! This is a great fae series,  the world is like ours which I really liked plus the supernatural elements as well. The genre of Fae is not something that I have read often but I really enjoyed this series and it's new adult feel. The settling and components to the world are intriguing but some of the plot and characters are very cliche and means that I do need to be in a specific mood to read them. I do love the guy characters in this series too with there bad boy edges I'm a sucker for a good bad boy. Plus when you have a awesome monkey side kick it always helps the one liners he comes out with are great and adds a good sarcastic and humorous note to the story.

This war is not being played on a battlefield.

Killed by the man she loves, not even death is kind to Zoey.
Neither life nor her fae powers will let her go in peace.

In this final installment, Zoey’s strength, determination, and trust are put to the ultimate test. In the fight to protect the people she loves and stop DMG from experimenting on fae, humans, and animals to create soldiers, she learns the reality of how far Dr. Rapava will go to achieve his ultimate mission.

Of course, Rapava is not the only one willing to go to extremes. Vadik is hunting Ryker, and there is nothing he won’t do to get back the property he feels is his: both Ryker and the Stone of Destiny.

To end one evil, Zoey might have to make a deal with another. One she won't be able to get out of. And it could be the worst decision she ever made.

Haven't started reading the Collector's series yet? Start with City In Embers!

Zoey Daniels has been tossed from foster home to foster home, where she grows up fast and tough. When she is placed in her “last-chance” home, she finds a reason to stay and turn her life around: her foster sister, Lexie, who is paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Zoey will do anything to keep her safe.

After high school, Zoey is hired by a special government agency, the Department of Molecular Genetics (DMG), where she meets the other reason to remain: Daniel, her co-worker. The man she loves.

But there is something unique about Zoey. She can see fae. Because of this, the DMG hires her to work as a Collector: catching, researching, testing, and using the fae to save human lives. The work never registers on her sympathy radar. She was raised to think of fae as beasts that feed on humans and want to destroy them.

When devastation hits Seattle, Zoey's whole world is turned upside down. The electric storm connects her to a ruthless fae, a Wanderer named Ryker, whose dealings expose them to even more trouble and danger. They embark on a journey, running and hiding from both the government and fae, both of which threaten their lives and those they love.

A love when books get a make over and when we get covers released! 2 books that come from series I love one got a make over and as been released while the cover of another has been revealed and is the CONCLUSION to one of my all time favourite series!.

SHADOW DEMONS BY SARRA CANNON

This book series was called the Peachville series follow a girl called Harper as she moves to a small town but discovers there is a lot more going on then she first realized and its not just what she finds out about the town but also herself!

It starts with Beautiful demons which I really liked and the new covers look insanely cool! If you want to check this series out check out the first book.

BEAUTIFUL DEMONS

Shadowford Home is her last chance, and she hopes Peachville High will be the fresh start she needs. But when evidence ties her to the gruesome murder of a Demons cheerleader, Harper discovers this small town has a big secret."

The new covers look great and have given a new life to the series plus they fit in really well with the theme, not that the old covers were bad but I like the colours and backgrounds that remind me of the story. Here is a picture of all the new covers

The Demon Wrath follows on of the other characters in the series and after Demons Forever the next 2 books have a number of different POV's as well. I am up to Forgotten Darkness and can't wait till I clear my schedule enough to read this book its so cool looking and the cliff hanger after Emerald Darkness was sooooo good I need to know whats going to happen! Check out these books they are a great twist on classic Witch/Demon books!

SHADOW FALLS: AFTER DARK BY C.C HUNTER

I loved this series which originally follows Kylie as she steps into a crazy world where she finds out there is so much more going on especially with her! Then you move onto the Shadow falls after dark series that started with Della's story as she deals with telling her parents what she is but also dealing with what she may become! And now the 3rd BFF in the group gets her own novel Midnight Hour! I#m so excited for this but sad that this series will finally becoming to an end and especially as Miranda only gets one book!. The cover came out last month and its so pretty I think it might almost be my favourite. MIDNIGHT HOUR

Title: Midnight Hour

Author: C.C Hunter

Series: Shadow Falls: After Dark #4

Published: St Martins Griffins

Genre: Urban Fantasy/Paranormal

Goodreads Synopsis:

"A missing sister, a heart in turmoil, and a growing tattoo that no one understands: The Shadow Falls saga comes to a spectacular conclusion in this thrilling finale!

Being a dyslexic witch has never been easy for Miranda Kane, but her time at Shadow Falls helped her tap into her true powers. Now her life is thrown into chaos after a near death experience leaves her with a mysterious growing tattoo no one can explain. Her heart is a mess over whether to get back together with Perry or take a chance on a new love, her parents are spitting up, and she may not get into the same college of her two best friends. To upend her world further, it appears her sister has been kidnapped and it’s not just her they want. Miranda’s only way of saving her sister may be to take her place. Will her friends at Shadow Falls save Miranda…or will she realize that she had the power to save herself all along?"

I talk about these series a lot because I love the story they produce and that they both have such great female lead characters. Its never just about the romance there is so much more especially friendships, I love in the Shadow Falls series with Kylie, Della and Miranda them together is just great! And the strong leadership position Harper takes on even though at times she is way over her head its a great beginning step for most younger readers too.
