Hey!
So I didn't want to have such a massive list but I then remembered there was a hell of a lot more books that I needed to read!
THE GREAT HUNT by WENDY HIGGINS
This is the new series by one of my favourite authors Wendy Higgins, who also wrote the Sweet Evil trilogy. This series followed demons and sin while her new series The Great Hunt takes on a completely new concept following a somewhat of a retelling to the brothers Grimm story, 'The Singing Bone'. I'm excited to see where she is going to take the story as I have always been a fan of the Brothers Grimm but also to see her writing go from a more paranormal side to a full on fantasy series I love a good book with some of those classic features with castles bad ass hunters and epic female heroines. There has been a lot of re tellings at the moment of fairy tales and things but its great to see someone taking a lesser known story and reimagining it. I loved Anna from her first especially being a strong female character so I can't wait to see what she does with her new lead Princess Aerity. I love this cover and it really makes me want to pick it up, give me all badass fantasy kickass females and epic hot men! This is going to be released really soon in March on the 8th!
Goodreads Synopsis
"Kill the beast. Win the girl.
A strange beast stirs fear in the kingdom of Lochlanach, terrorizing towns with its brutality and hunger. In an act of desperation, a proclamation is sent to all of Eurona—kill the creature and win the ultimate prize: the daughter of King Lochson’s hand in marriage.
Princess Aerity understands her duty to the kingdom though it pains her to imagine marrying a stranger. It would be foolish to set her sights on any particular man in the great hunt, but when a brooding local hunter, Paxton Seabolt, catches her attention, there’s no denying the unspoken lure between them…or his mysterious resentment.
Paxton is not keen on marriage. Nor does he care much for spoiled royals and their arcane laws. He’s determined to keep his focus on the task at hand—ridding the kingdom of the beast and protecting his family—yet Princess Aerity continues to challenge his notions with her unpredictability and charm. But as past secrets collide with present desires, dire choices threaten everything Paxton holds dear.
Inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ tale, “The Singing Bone,” New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins delivers a dark fantasy filled with rugged hunters, romantic tension, outlawed magic, and a princess willing to risk all to save her people."
TITANS by VICTORIA SCOTT
This woman sure knows how to write, I completely love her writing style and the characters that she comes up with really pulls you in where you just like DAYUM! So I am super excited about her new book Titans, set sort of now but where there are these races much like our normal horse races but there are MECANICAL!. I have never read anything like thisd before so it makes me even more excited, but I feel like this may be one of those books where the less you know the better the experience so I have read the synopsis but no more. The covers too for Victoria Scotts books are so great I love her Fire & Flood covers like they did a great job and this cover is great too, you can tell a bit about what the story is but I love the colour and can't wait to add this to my bookshelf. I'm excited to see where this goes and it is out soon Feburary the 23rd!
Goodreads Synopsis
"Ever since the Titans first appeared in her Detroit neighborhood, Astrid Sullivan’s world has revolved around the mechanical horses. She and her best friend have spent countless hours watching them and their jockeys practice on the track. It’s not just the thrill of the race. It’s the engineering of the horses and the way they’re programmed to seem so lifelike. The Titans are everything that fascinates Astrid, and nothing she’ll ever touch.
She hates them a little, too. Her dad lost everything betting on the Titans. And the races are a reminder of the gap between the rich jockeys who can afford the expensive machines to ride, and the working class friends and neighbors of Astrid’s who wager on them.
But when Astrid’s offered a chance to enter an early model Titan in this year’s derby, well, she decides to risk it all. Because for a girl from the wrong side of the tracks, it’s more than a chance at fame or money. Betting on herself is the only way she can see to hang on to everyone in the world she cares about"
RIDERS by VERONICA ROSSI
This author is known for her other series Under the Never Sky which is still on my must read list but I am slow getting onto this bandwagon. BUT this is her new series that sounds just as awesome and really makes me want to pick this up. Its cool that she is going to look at a more supernatural/fantasy side instead of the sci-fi I have heard nothing but great things about her books and her style so I want to go into this somewhat blind and see what will happen. Its also cool to see her do this from a male POV too and it seems like a great idea too I mean there are not that many books that I have read where we are looking at the Apocalypse and the 4 horse men! I'm ready to see someones play on this concept as there is so many great ways to take it so bring this on! It is already out it came out on February 16th. And hey how awesome are the covers for these books this year I will go and find this in person cause I need to see if its as beautiful as it looks!
Goodreads Synopsis
"Nothing but death can keep eighteen-year-old Gideon Blake from achieving his goal of becoming a U.S. Army Ranger. As it turns out, it does.
While recovering from the accident that most definitely killed him, Gideon finds himself with strange new powers and a bizarre cuff he can’t remove. His death has brought to life his real destiny. He has become War, one of the legendary four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Over the coming weeks, he and the other horsemen—Conquest, Famine, and Death—are brought together by a beautiful but frustratingly secretive girl to help save humanity from an ancient evil on the emergence.
They fail.
Now—bound, bloodied, and drugged—Gideon is interrogated by the authorities about his role in a battle that has become an international incident. If he stands any chance of saving his friends and the girl he’s fallen for—not to mention all of humankind—he needs to convince the skeptical government officials the world is in imminent danger.
But will anyone believe him?"
UNTITLE SHADOWFALLS BOOK by C.C HUNTER
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS! I have grown to love the Shadow Falls series starting from reading Kylie's story as she learns about who and what she was, then Della's After Dark series as she tries to finally deal with being a Vampire and to get some control in her life. BUT now Miranda is getting a full novel about herself. This series is just growing and growing which is great cause I love the world where all the supernatural creatures you thought were a myth are real! There isn't much of a plot or a full on release date for this novel and sadly it will only be one but I am excited to finally get back into Miranda's witchy head and see where she can go. She is such an easy character to relate to and I have always held a special place for Miranda. This is a great young adult series and is great for all ages especially when your just getting into YA, however Della's story is a little more grown up it will be cool to see what kind of style this new book will be. I so recommend this series from the plots, friendships, epic supernatural beings, romance and adventure creates a great book. Hopefully it will be out this year around the end fingers crossed! You can read them in any order if you really want as there are heaps of Novellas as well but I think its best to start at the beginning with Kylie
Shadow Falls book #1 Born at Midnight - Kylies Story
Goodreads Synopsis
"Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen…
One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.
Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.
Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…"
MOON CHOSEN by P.C CAST
This is a new series by PC Cast that I only really just found out about and there are not a lot of information out yet. Its being labeled YA fantasy though the thing to note about P.C Cast is she doesn't really stick to this so it can always be an exciting touch. The characters are late teens early 20s, it is set in the Pacific NW, in and around Portland, OR, and Sauvie Island; the setting time is in the future - centuries after a massive ecological apocalypse that completely changed our world; animals feature predominately in the series - as do ancient goddesses/gods. She originally wrote the the House of Night series with her daughter set in Tulsa about Vampyres being real and the issues that come out when you mix humans with this supernatural character. I loved the way she writes and adds so much detail especially having the story come back to nature and goddesses. I'm excited to see where this new series will go and it seems super interesting. It is expected to be released on October 18th
"Goodreads Synopsis" - really not a synopsis but hey
"About Mari, an Earth Walker coming to know her powers and her attraction to her mortal enemy."
SCARLET RAIN - ESCAPED BOOK #2 by KRISTIN CAST
This is the daughter of P.C Cast who co wrote the House of Night series, and I was really excited to start her new series when I found out she was writing the Escaped book one Amber Smoke. This was cool I mean I am a lover of Mythology and this is a great play on the Greek myths of the Furies who I haven't seen very many people do!. Its not going for the normal children of gods but children of Furies and Oracle which are such important part mythology. So When I first read Amber Smoke I went in wondering what this was really going to be about and was happily surprised, the characters are great and easy to relate, the plot was interesting and held my attention, made me want to read more and I felt like I just needed more from the book. My only worry is the fact that there is just a little bit of insta-love which is a little eh but I do want to know where the story will go. This is set to be released on May the 17th. Plus the cover was just released and I really like it better than the first one!
AMBER SMOKE #1
Goodreads Synopsis
"There is a world that runs parallel to our own, a world in which the souls of the damned are caged, where they are looked over by the Furies, and where they spend eternity in torment, mirroring the devastation and mayhem they created when alive.
Someone has opened the cage.
The worst of terrors has crossed the barrier that separates our world from theirs, and the Furies send a great, albeit untested warrior—their only son, Alek—to try to bring those souls back. He is young and handsome, headstrong and impulsive, and he won’t be able to do it alone.
Eva has grown up, beautiful and beloved, but surrounded by secrets. First, she will be hunted in an ancient feud that will threaten her life. Then, she will become the hunter.
With the police closing in and two worlds on the verge of crumbling around them, Alek and Eva must find each other, discover the limits of their powers, and work together to save everything they hold dear, including one another. Blending elements of mythology with the dazzling storytelling that her fans have devoured through the House of Night series, Kristin Cast weaves a spellbinding and passionate tale that starts a thrilling new series with an explosive charge."
So hopefully this will be the end for a while and I can wait and do more in the next few months! Love me some books and love me some pretty covers
Hope your doing well and have a great day
Peace : )
